You should focus on the representation of the cops and the civilians. Also, as you describe a shot, get used to giving a short explanation on the effect achieved or desired, be it to tell the audience something about the character(s), the narrative, or to create / heighten suspense and tension. For eg the latino music - you've made a comment straight away. Might also suggest racial tension, illegal immigrants, drug and crime associated with drug cartels etc.
